We want to hear from you!

The City of Palm Desert is kicking off a Neighborhood Mobility Strategies Study for the Portola Avenue area. There are several opportunities to participate, including an in-person and virtual community meeting and an interactive map where you can post your comments.

Click this link here to access the interactive map.

Overview

Portola Avenue connects residential communities to Highway 111 to the north and Living Desert Zoo and Gardens to the south. The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens host popular events, such as WildLights, bringing more visitors and increased traffic to local neighborhood roads. The City of Palm Desert is looking for your feedback to better understand mobility in this area. This project aims to develop a suite of traffic strategies to address mobility while continuing to welcome visitors to the Living Desert. Based on your feedback and data collection, the project team will develop a study that identifies potential improvements in this area.

Participate

On March 19, 2025, the City of Palm Desert held a community workshop at City Hall to engage with residents and gather feedback on key community priorities. Participants joined both in person and virtually via Zoom to share their thoughts and learn more about ongoing initiatives.

Please join us for our next meeting on May 20th, 2025 at 5PM. The meeting will take place in the Administrative Conference Room at Palm Desert City Hall (same location as the March meeting). The next meeting will focus on the mobility strategies discussed during the last meeting in March and provide an update on the Project Study

If you are unable to join in-person we will be providing an online option. The Zoom link will be posted here closer to the meeting date.
